Solar Energy Technician

This six week, six module course will provide students with the skills and training necessary for entry level positions as Solar PV installers. Starting with the PV fundamentals, and a solid understanding of various components, system architectures, and applications for PV systems, Students will obtain in-depth knowledge PV Solar. Other topics include site analysis, system sizing, array configuration, and electricity basics; electrical design characteristics such as wiring, overcurrent protection, and grounding; a detailed look at module and inverter specifications and characteristics; mounting methods for various roof structures and ground mounts; and an introduction to safety, construction management, commissioning and more. Upon completion of this course, students will be prepared to take part in one of the fastest growing industries in the world. Upon graduation, students will be prepared to take the NABCEP Associate Installer Exam.

Solar Plant


Commercial Scale PV Solar Associate Commercial

Scale PV Solar Associate is a professional track program in the design, installation, verification and maintenance of of PV systems. Although this course covers the NABCEP requirements for residential PV systems, the emphasis of this course is commercial scale Solar PV systems. Hands on-training follows the skills outlined in the NABCEP PV Installation Professional Job Task Analysis. Topics include NEC code requirements, configuring and installing utility-interactive, bimodal and off grid PV systems, safety and system maintenance. This hands-on advanced certification training class provides 40 of the 58 hours required needed to sit for the NABCEP PV Installation Professional Exam. Access to our online solar PV learning module is included in fee.

The approximate time required to complete this course is two weeks for full time students. The course consist of 30 hours in class and 10 hours online NABCEP Exam Prep. Students are required to attend Student Orientation which takes place online prior to class start.
